Simply put, Feel Good Day is a movement that is 100% dedicated to feeling good.

It’s about feeling good about yourself, feeling good about others, and just plain ol’ feeling good.

No matter who you are or who you’re not, Feel Good Day is especially for you!

EVERYONE, EVERYWHERE,
deserves to feel good, and Feel Good Day is here to spread that message all around.

But Feel Good Day isn’t simply a philosophy of feeling good--- it’s also a really awesome non-profit organization!

Our mission is to raise self esteem, better the lives of our fellow human beings, bring communities closer together, reduce the toll of the daily grind, and alleviate all the stresses and strains of the modern world.

Got two minutes to feel good???

Every Monday, Feel Good Day sends out a fun and inspiring feel-good message to its Facebook group, "Team Feel Good Day".

Here's some examples of previous Marvelous Monday Messages:

March 3rd, 2008:

allrighteee.....

here we go:

What word in the english language rhymes with "orange"???

(I'll give you a clue: it rhymes with...uhh....nevermind, no clue....)

got it??? You sure???

trick question! Nothing in the english language rhymes with "orange"

So if you got that answer, you're a winner.

And you know what, even if you didn't get the answer, you're still a winner, because you're YOU, and YOU are a specially gifted human being, and a winner in the game of life (no matter what you might think rhymes with 'orange').

have a GREAT day!

February 11th, 2008:

Here's a recipe for having a great day...

STEP 1: Smile. Even if you have to force it, even if it's only momentary, even if you're tired and/or in a bad mood, go ahead and smile. That's step one.

STEP 2: Think of your three bestest qualities. Maybe you're a really great dancer; maybe you're a really generous person; maybe you're a Guitar Hero superstar; whatever. Anything about you that makes you stand out in your own mind, think about it.

STEP 3: Got a mirror??? Take a look.... Within that mirror, you'll find a beautiful, unique, smiling, happy person, with a number of fantastic qualities... That person staring back at you is all you need to have a super great day.

There.... Did you follow the three easy steps??? hope so...have a great day.....(but I didn't have to tell you that, did I?)

There's plenty more examples just like those... Sometimes they are a bit more risque, sometimes they're more simple, more complex, funnier.... They are all unique in their own way, just like you!

So if you'd like to receive these Marvelous Monday Messages, you can either join the Facebook group, Team Feel Good Day, or if you don't have Facebook, receive them by email-- just send your email address to feelgoodday@gmail.com

Our First Annual Basketball Tournament Fundraiser!

June 21st, 2008: A day that will go down in history as Feel Good Day's first major fundraiser.

Coordinated by a team of feel-gooders led by Drew Miller and Sebastien Gatti and located at the legendary Hampstead Basketball Court, the tournoi was HUGELY successful.

Food and refreshments served all day. Music provided by DJ PG-13. Fun in the sun. Some great basketball with some great players.... All for a great cause.

Stride to Succeed, MAB, and FGD

Once a week, with the help of the volunteers from Stride to Succeed, students from the Montreal Association of the Blind embarked on what might seem like an impossible journey--- learning how to skate.

This wonderful program was hugely successful, giving these students the time of their lives. By the last day of this 6 week program, these students were skating like champs.

To celebrate the completion of the skating workshop, Stride to Succeed invited Feel Good Day to organize a final celebration.

A Gem at J.E.M.

On Wednesday, May 21st, Team Feel Good Day headed to J.E.M., a workshop for mentally and emotionally handicapped Montrealers.

On the worker's lunchbreak, we distributed cupcakes, coffee and juice, played all sorts of games (bowling, bean-bag toss, and board games) and made get-well cards for people in the hospital.

Some Easter Fun...

Late in March, Feel Good Day McGill holds an Easter Bunny Chocolate-O-Thon, handing out candy and Feel Good Vibes all over the McGill Campus.....
And for an added touch, they gather a group of kiddo's from the McGill daycare and do some arts and crafts..... (but there's no pics of the kids...it's illegal, or somethin like that)...
What a splendid event....

Welcome to the Club!

Ladies and Gentlemen, Madames et Monsieurs, Senoras y Senores, there's TWO new Feel Good Day clubs in town...

The first is Feel Good Day Dawson!

Started this year by a team of young do-good enthusiasts, the Feel Good Day club at Dawson College has gotten off to a roaring start. They've helped at events at the Shriners and Children's hospitals, have had internal Dawson events, have already secured a killer club space, and are speading the Feel-Good-Vibe all over campus.

You can get in touch with them through their email address, feelgooddaydawson@gmail.com or through their facebook group, The Feel Good Club Dawson Chapter.

The second is Feel Good Day Concordia!

While still not officially a student club, this future student organization has the makings of greatness. With a small but strong and gifted core of new University students eager to pitch-in towards making the world a better place, Feel Good Day is sure to take hold at one of Montreal's most visible institutions. Step one, deal with the bureaucratic ins and outs. Step two, make people feel good. Ready......GO!

You can get in touch with them through their email address, feelgooddayconcordia@gmail.com or through their facebook group, Feel Good Day Concordia.

So that's it for now. The student movement is growing, the Feel-Good-Vibes are spreading, and the world is slowly but surely becoming a happier place.

have a GREAT day!

Feel Good Day at the Children's Hospital

Walking in to the hospital's doors, you're greeted by Big Bird, Winnie the Poo, and other fun characters...

Just before you reach the waiting room, a team of happy and enthusiastic youngsters hand you candy, stickers, and a feel good message telling you how wonderful you are...

As you enter the main hospital area, you wonder what all the commotion is--- there's a booth set up with free bagels and free hot chocolate, there's a small table with kids doing arts and crafts, there's throngs of young people in colorful shirts and happy smiles walking around handing out candy, feel good messages, teddy bears, puzzles, stickers, and other fun stuff.....

Then you see the brochure--- November 13th 2007 is a Feel Good Day at the Montreal Children's Hospital....

What a WONDERFUL day!
Thank you to everyone who helped make this
Feel Good Day a HUGE success!

Where did we come from???

Originally, Feel Good Day was an event put on by a McGill University club. The club was (and still is) called Liberated Bodies, and their mission is to raise awareness about eating disorders, and promote healthy body image. Feel Good Day - one of the club's first major events - was simply about raising self-esteem. Today, Feel Good Day is about so much more, but it is still firmly rooted in the mission to make people feel good about themselves.

Here is a link to a news article about Liberated Bodies and the original Feel Good Day.

Here is a link to a news-clip that featured the first ever Feel Good Day event. Enjoy!
